Hi Everyone! Am I the only one loving this Summer weather extending into Fall? Last week I went to pack away all the summer clothes, so I’m glad I get a couple more weeks of “summer weather” left before we transition into fall.
Ohhh, the “packing away” phase is probably one of those hard parts of Motherhood no one ever told me about. Every time I pack away Sienna’s clothes from that season, I go on an emotional roller coaster. Is this normal? Haha, probably not. But, I think it’s because I know my little one is growing up so fast. She won’t fit into 75% of these clothes next summer. As I am folding clothes to be packed away, so many thoughts go through my head.. Will I have another little girl to wear this someday? Will my sister have a little girl, who will love this outfit as much as Sienna? I laugh, I cry, and I reminisce all those happy tears of how we spent the summer. I won’t always remember the Popsicle stain that took an hour and two washes to get out, the smell of chlorine on her bathing suits from our days at the pool, the look on her face when she twirled in a dress for the first time but I hope to remember the pure joy and fun this past summer has been for us. Who knew clothes could make a person feel so many emotions? Again… probably just me.
On a completely different note, is it a heat wave where you live too? It has been in the upper 80’s this past week, and I’m loving it. We lived in Hawaii for 3.5 years and I got used to the temperature there. I mean, who wouldn’t? So, in the next few days or weeks, I’m going to soak up this hot September sun!
These dresses are just so adorable and you would never believe they aren’t “Mommy & Me.” These are a perfect example of how easy it can be to find simple outfits that compliment each other perfectly. I am loving the ruffle off the shoulder trend! And her little outfit just matches perfectly.
Review of Mommy & Me
Material: Lightweight but doesn’t feel cheap (at least not to me) I did have to wear a nude slip under this, since it is so lightweight. This would look so adorable at a picnic or even a summer day date.
Fit: A little large. I ordered a Small, and I thought it fit just a little bigger. But, seeing as it’s not a “tight form fitting” dress I liked the flowy fit of it. One thing to note, in the image below it looks like it is going to be tighter at the bust and then flow out. It doesn’t, it is a typical boxy loose shift dress.
Length: Above the knee. This dress hit me at the perfect spot. I don’t have the longest legs, so I think this is my favorite length for dresses to hit, so they elongate my legs.
Overall: I really liked this dress! I thought it was just perfect to match Sienna’s, but I can also wear it on a summer or spring date with my husband. I loved the ruffle cold shoulder detail. You see this everywhere! And it is actually affordable!
Material: Lightweight, but not as lightweight as mine. Her lace detail really enhanced the dress and I think it added to hers feeling a tiny bit heavier than my dress, almost as if it was double lined.
Fit: True to Size. This just fit her perfectly. The little halter top hit the bloomers at the exact right place. I only wish the adorable bow on the bloomers could have been seen more, instead of hidden.
Length: She’s petite, so I think it hit her a good length with room to grow.
Overall: Just adorable. She gets so many compliments when she wears this, I mean come on. It has this adorable lace detail with a big bow on the bloomers. I think this was one of my favorite summer outfits on her.
