Hi Everyone, I hope you are enjoying your summer kickoff now that kids are out of school. I absolutely love the summer! Hands down, my favorite season of the year. I love everything summer has to offer….. pool days, beach trips, drinking a glass of wine on the deck after a long day, family walks, flowers, flip flops, barbecues, chalk fun and bubbles with Sienna, watching our tomato plant grow, local fruit stands, and so much more!
I wanted to share what we wore for Mother’s Day, because while they aren’t a true “Mommy and Me” moment and the picture quality isn’t great. I love it because it’s Sienna and me.
My Mother’s Day started by waking up super early to prepare for the day ahead visiting my in-laws and then my parents. AJ was away for a work trip so I knew I had to get myself ready before Sienna got up. As I was putting on my makeup I kept thinking what I wrote to my Mom in her card… all Mom’s really want to know is that they are/(did) doing a good job raising their kids. I think it’s something really important a Mom needs to be reminded of from her children as you get older.
Because otherwise, all the time you spend putting someone else before yourself, the time you didn’t have a chance to get to something you wanted to do, the times your nails are chipped and you keep saying… I’m going to paint them while she sleeps and days pass, the times when you can’t go to the bathroom without a toddler at your feet or hearing a kid yell “Mom”, the times where you meant to text a friend back and completely forgot because your toddler was having a mini meltdown, the times when you get up multiple times throughout the night to see what’s wrong, the times when you just cleaned the floor and somehow bubbles get spilled all over the place, the time where you meant to pay attention to your husband more but Candyland couldn’t wait, the time when you just cleaned her room and princess dresses, socks, shoes, bathing suits are all over the floor. The list really could go on and on…but isn’t that the beauty of being a Mother? I actually embrace it and love it. I’m one of those Moms that rarely yells at Sienna (I hear boys are harder) and I remember not to cry over spilled milk… usually preceded by a couple deep breaths!
As I’m thinking all these things in my head, I hear Sienna waking up to say…. is it Easter? (We stay at my sister’s house during holidays and the last one was Easter… so I think she was confused) and I said.. No, baby girl. It’s Mother’s Day! Without prompting her or anything… she gets up from a sleepy haze and says “Happy Mother’s Day Mommy,” wrapping her arms tightly around my neck and then proceeds to give me the biggest kiss. My heart just about melted into a million pieces. My little 2.5 year old is wise beyond her years and I just adore her so much. And that right there… that was all I needed for Mother’s Day. No fancy presents, no one to wait on me, no naps, or relaxing. Just to feel loved by my little girl!
Honestly, amazing!!!! You need to order this one because it is the most comfortable romper I have ever worn! It is going to be perfect on those hot humid summer days because it’s so loose and flowy! I couldn’t recommend this enough for Mom’s!
This dress is beyond adorable! It is PERFECT for a 1 year birthday shoot if you have a summer birthday. I wish I had it for her 1 year Birthday Shoot! We will be wearing this in the summer a lot too! Sienna is a peanut and wears size 12-18 months still, but it fit her true to size.
